CKY–Log 1 (Feb 7th)

A log of my average day of television for Wednesday, February 7th, 2007:

2:30 pm: FX–movie, As Good As It Gets (I like it)

3pm?: History Channel– in-depth look at an infamous Civil War POW camp, with extensive descriptions/recreations of torture, including genital torture methods, mass hangings, etc. Also hate crimes in killing black prisoners, zooming in on a bloodstained actor playing a murder victim.

Arts and Entertainment (A&E)–Investigative report on the Menendez brothers, Lyle and Eric, who were found guilty of killing their parents.

5:30-6pm: Comedy Central–movie, not sure what, was an Afro-American comedy though. Not much going on in it.

Cartoon Network–Yu-Gi-Oh next generation or whatever, basically a trading card anime.  After that was a showing of Naruto, a prepubescent ninja anime devoid of realistic violence.

Animal Planet–The Jeff Corwin Experience. Generic hosted nature show.

7:25 pm: NBC–Local news (football reports)

Comedy C.–Scrubs, a decent-to-good comedy about hospital interns and the need for community.

Cartoon Net.–Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends (animated nonsense)

Animal P.–The Most Extreme, a comparative biology show

A&E–CSI Miami. Corpse fetishism via an autopsy and the detailed cleanup/disposal of two murder victims.

7:50 pm: Fox–Seinfeld

8:15 pm: Fox–Bones. Corpse fetishism via an extremely decomposed body of a once-attractive young lady who seemed to have been raped, murdered and then mutilated by an alligator. Forensics regales us with findings such as ‘bruising to her vaginal wall’ and semen deposits. While this occurs, a new love interest is introduced to the lead examiner, and it’s implied they will go on a date that night. I was also preheating my oven right about then.

9:00 pm?: NBC–American Idol. I changed the channel so I could eat dinner.

MSNBC–War in Iraq debate, then a blurb on the NASA astronaut scandal dealing with attempted kidnapping and/or murder.

Animal Planet–program on barracuda behavior and attacks. Recreation of an attack on a woman, with prolonged and extremely detailed description of anatomical damage. Blood drops recreated on a deck.

A&E–The Sopranos

History Ch.–program about hydraulic power

TBS–Everybody Loves Raymond or his brother’s spinoff show, not sure which

Comedy Central–Chappelle’s Show

10:50 pm: Cartoon Net.–Futurama

History Ch.–Modern Marvels, a program about pumps. Could have been a rerun of above.

Animal P.–Animal Planet Heroes. A show featuring actual, severely-mistreated animals and their subsequent rescue and recovery, adoption or euthanasia. ASPCA or the Animal Protective League stars, not sure which.

MSNBC– documentary of a hiker trapped in the wilderness, focusing on his suffering and wish for death and subsequent rescue.

A&E–The Sopranos

11:00 pm: Comedy C.–The Daily Show (guest=Ralph Nader). Coverage of the NASA astronaut incident.

A&E–The Sopranos, then Dog: The Bounty Hunter, a show focusing on criminal chases and rehabilitation attempts from Dog.

Cartoon Net–Futurama

11:30pm: Cartoon Net–Family Guy

Animal Planet–Blue Planet, an in-depth weekly look at ocean habitats.
